RED Garlic Bistro
If it's not yet obvious by now...we love food and we love trying out new restaurants and different cuisines so celebrating my birthday was the perfect excuse to do just that (yet again). :p
Last week we had lunch at this newly opened restaurant (and I mean really new; they just opened last October 2, 2011) in Katipunan: RED Garlic Bistro. Unlike the other restaurant with 'garlic' in its name, this one doesn't put the spice on the spotlight. Although I don't know the whole history behind the name, RED actually stands for Read • Eat • Drink, and they serve a mix of Asian and Western-inspired dishes.
The restaurant has nice interiors: classy yet laid-back; perfect for families, friends, even for client meetings.

The first thing we noticed were their interesting glassware.
Lemonade
Pardon the lack of information, we forgot the names of the dishes and its price. *bonk self*
The BF's soup
Appetizer: chicken with mushroom. It tastes almost like adobo with a hint of curry.
His lamb chop, medium rare. The meat was tender and tasty.
My Parmesan encrusted dory. A generous serving of two dory fillets smothered with Parmesan and herbs served freshly baked. I absolutely loved this. ♥
And of course, no meal is complete without dessert so we capped off our sumptuous lunch with their Mississippi Mud Pie which is just perfect; it's rich but is not too sweet. Dark chocolate is my weakness!
What I like about RED Garlic:
- Straightforward presentation; nil garnish: just good food
- The staff were very attentive. I didn't even have to ask for refills (take note that we dined during rush hour)
- Food arrived freshly cooked and on time
- Price is very reasonable for the quality of food
Overall, this restaurant is highly recommended!
