Ayala Triangle Gardens Food Trip

What better way to spend a Friday night than go out on an eating spree right? :p

Since BF and I have been hearing about this new chicken craze in town called Chicken Bon Chon, we decided to pay it a visit.
As expected, there were lots of people that night; mostly yuppies working in Makati naturally.
I had Chicken Wings Rice Box (which did not come in a box by the way :p) while BF had the Chicken Drumsticks Rice Box.
My Chicken Wings Rice Box (Soy Garlic), 3 pcs., Php135
His Chicken Drumsticks Rice Box (Hot & Spicy), 2 pcs., Php145

I think I did not pay much attention to whether the chicken was served hot or cold because I ate it right away. :p I liked the crispiness of the skin. It's not dry like that of a fried chicken, but not soggy either even with the sauce (?). My soy garlic is not salty; the flavor is just right and every shred of meat was tasty and was cooked very well. BF on the other hand find his order just okay. For the price, I was satisfied.

Trivia: Chicken Bon Chon originated in Korea but became famous in New York.

Now we move on to Wee Nam Kee
Ironic that I was not able to try the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice when I went to Singapore.

Lots of people are raving about this one too, even lining up for it, so I decided it was high time I taste this so-called 'national dish'.
Hainanese Chicken with Rice, Php302

Of course we had to order this for takeaway since we just ate (chicken & chicken anyone?) :p. It came with four condiments; two of which are shredded ginger, soy or oyster sauce (not sure), and chili sauce. First taste and it was blah. I added the shredded ginger and it tasted like tinola which I'm not really fond of by the way. If it wasn't for the condiments, it would really just be plain poached chicken. The glutinous rice is also nothing to write home about.
------------------------------------------
For dessert, we had gelato from Amici's dessert bar: Caramia Gelateria.
Mouthwatering cakes and gelato!

I had New York Cheesecake while BF had Choco Sans Rival. A scoop costs Php70.00. Next time I'll try Mocha Straciatella. :D
